Residential HVAC Rebate Program

The EAP Residential Rebate Program makes it easy for contractors to offer financial incentives, helping customers invest in high-efficiency equipment at a lower cost. Available twice per year, these instant rebates are applied directly at the time of sale and can be combined with qualifying PECO rebates for even greater savings.

How the Program Works
Rebates are shared equally between contractors and participating distributors/manufacturers. Contractors deduct the full rebate amount from the customer’s invoice at the time of sale. To be eligible, customers must work with an approved contractor, and the contractor must purchase qualifying equipment from a participating distributor or manufacturer.

How Contractors Receive Rebate Payments
To receive reimbursement, contractors must submit a completed rebate form to EAP. Once approved, EAP forwards the submission to the participating distributor/manufacturer, which then applies a credit for their portion of the rebate to the contractor’s account.

This streamlined process ensures that contractors can easily pass savings on to customers while benefiting from financial support on qualifying installations.

Qualifying Systems and Rebates
Unitary heating & air systems as well as heat pump mini split systems are featured products in this program.

For Contractors

To participate, contractors must meet and adhere to the following requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of $1,000,000 in General Liability insurance, Workers Compensation (as required by law), and a current HIC number.
  • Contractors are responsible for providing the full rebate amount to the customer as an instant discount. The EAP rebate and amount must be on the customer’s invoice.
  • Following installation, the Contractor must file a claim to receive a reimbursement of 50% of the full rebate amount from the manufacturer or distributor. The Manufacturer or Distributor reimburse contractors with account credit typically within 15 business days of receiving claim submissions for qualifying equipment.
  • All qualifying claims must be submitted to EAP by the published deadline. Complete submissions must include: EAP claim information, an invoice clearly noting the EAP Rebate and rebate amount provided to the customer, and the AHRI Certificate of Product Rating sheet. Please note, we may be unable to process and submit late submissions for reimbursement.
  • Rebates will be offered on full heat pump or central air conditioning systems. For heat pump systems, this means that both the outdoor unit and indoor air handler must be installed. For central air conditioning systems, this means that the outdoor unit, indoor fan-bearing unit or furnace, and coil must be installed. Add-on coils alone are not eligible for a rebate. Rebates are based on AHRI Type noted on AHRI Certificate.
  • Contractor must purchase participating brand equipment from a participating manufacturer/distributor. All system components must be purchased from the same distributor to qualify for the rebate reimbursement. Manufacturers and distributors may exclude certain models or tiers. Contractors are responsible for ensuring the system sold meets qualifications.
  • Rebates are not valid in combination with other manufacturer rebates or discounts. PECO and local utility rebates can be combined with EAP rebates.

This program is conducted by The Electrical Association of Philadelphia. PECO Energy does not receive any payments in connection with the program, and its involvement is limited to making information about the program available to their customers.
