The instructors that lead our continuing education are highly trained, experienced, and qualified current and former electrical inspectors in the Greater Philadelphia Region. Learn more about our current instructors:

Ernest Davis
Ernie Davis has been in the electrical industry for over fifty years! He is a graduate of Bok Vocational and Technical High School in the Philadelphia School District, where he was hired upon graduation. Starting as an electrical trades trainee, he progressed to become an electrician, an electrical foremen, and then facility manager.

Mr. Davis is an electrical contractor licensed in the City of Philadelphia, State of New Jersey, and City of Chester. He is also a Pennsylvania UCC Certified Electrical Inspector in categories 11, 19, and 25, as well as a Licensed Electrical Inspector for the City of Philadelphia. He is an active member and Past President of I.A.E.I – Benjamin Franklin Chapter, in addition to his membership with the Electrical Association of Philadelphia.

 

James Dollard
EAPs newest instructor, Jim has worked in the electrical industry for over 40 years. As a long time NFPA committee member serving on many NEC committees and NFPA 70E, Jim provides presentations that provide significant clarity on all code and safety related topics. He is presently the Director of Code Compliance at United Inspection Agency.

Marc Faulkner
EAPs newest instructor, Marc Faulkner is the owner/manager of Faulkner Inspection Services which is certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry (PA DOL) as a third-party agency. He currently holds 16 PA DOL UCC certifications including Electrical Inspector, Residential Electrical Inspector and Electrical Plans Examiner. He has been working as an Electrical Inspector/Plans Examiner for over ten years. Prior to this, he worked as a journeyman inside wireman with the IBEW for over ten years in primarily commercial settings. Formally educated and trained by completing a five-year apprenticeship, his electrical background includes a variety of work experience.

Ralph Goldsborough
Ralph Goldsborough brings nearly 40 years of electrical industry experience to his presentations. Starting his career in the United States Navy as an electrician, he progressed into a High Voltage Electrician before joining the public sector in 2007. In addition to working in the United States Navy and then Square D (now Schneider Electric), Mr. Goldsborough shared his expertise as an instructor at Delaware Community College, where he taught for six years. A Master Electrician since 2017, Mr. Goldsborough is also an Electrical Inspector in the state of Delaware.

Richard Van Wert
Rich Van Wert has been employed in the electrical industry for more than 40 years. He was the Senior Electrical Inspector for the Middle Department Inspection Agency, and has taught electrical courses for Drexel University, US Steel and Penn State University.
