Educational Foundation

Founded by the Electrical Association of Philadelphia, the Foundation was established in the early 1990’s to provide educational scholarships exclusively for the family members of EAP Members—a tradition that continues today as a valued member benefit. Over time, its reach has grown to include scholarships for individuals across the five-county Philadelphia region pursuing technical education in electrical and HVAC programs, helping to strengthen the region’s skilled workforce and promote opportunity.

In 2023, the Foundation launched its first Tribute Scholarship, the Ellen Barag Women in Engineering Scholarship, generously funded by G&W Electric, to support and inspire women pursuing engineering degrees.

The Foundation’s enduring strength is built on the leadership of volunteers who have devoted decades of service—most notably Jack Beiter, the longest-serving President of the Educational Foundation. In recognition of his extraordinary commitment to education and mentorship, the Jack Beiter Scholarship was established, with the first award to be presented in 2026.

Through the generosity of EAP Members, donors, and community partners, the Educational Foundation continues to advance its mission of supporting education, fostering opportunity, and investing in the future of our industry and community.
