The Electrical Association of Philadelphia Educational Foundation is proud to offer the Jack Beiter Tribute Scholarship, celebrating Jack’s incredible legacy of service and dedication. The scholarship award is worth $4,000 and is available exclusively to the family members of the Electrical Association of Philadelphia.
During his 30+ years as President of our Educational Foundation and as a committed EAP member, Jack helped award more than $250,000 in scholarships to more than 125 students. Through this scholarship, we honor Jack’s lifelong commitment to excellence and empower future generations of electrical professionals. Application Process:
Please gather the following information as you prepare to apply:
- Your intended college of choice (if you have not yet selected one, list your top choice), or current college
- A copy of your high school transcripts (they do not need to be “official,” but must include your name), or college transcript
- A list of your extracurricular activities, honors, and awards
- A list of your community service and volunteer activities
- An essay answering the following question (max 1,000 words each essay): Please tell us about your career aspirations, a challenge you have overcome, or your how you wish to make an impact on the world.
- SAT score document (for High School seniors)
About Jack Beiter:
A proud World War II veteran, Jack Beiter exemplifies the best of a generation that shaped our nation’s future. He graduated from Penn State University’s Business College in 1952 and has remained an active and devoted alumnus for an incredible 73 years. Throughout his life, Jack has given selflessly to others, earning the prestigious Philip Mitchel Humanitarian Award in recognition of his unwavering commitment to charitable causes.
Professionally, Jack’s 40-year career with GE and Philips Lighting Companies was marked by excellence and leadership. He went on to found E-Finity Energy and E-Finity Distributed Generation, pioneering microgrid and power generation solutions that continue to advance the industry today.
Jack’s impact extends far beyond business. A tireless advocate for those in need, he has raised over $1,000,000 to support research toward a cure for multiple sclerosis and spearheaded Philadelphia Rotary’s efforts to eradicate polio, raising enough funds to eliminate the disease on the island of Madagascar.
Within the Electrical Association of Philadelphia, Jack’s contributions are immeasurable. A member since 1984, he served as President of the Educational Foundation for more than 30 years, guiding the Foundation in awarding over $250,000 in scholarships to 125 students, an enduring legacy of support for future generations of electrical professionals.
Through the Jack Beiter Tribute Scholarship, we honor Jack’s lifelong commitment to integrity, service, and excellence, and will continue his mission of empowering students to achieve their dreams.
