EAP Code of Conduct

Introduction
The Electrical Association of Philadelphia (“EAP”) is a trade association representing contractors in the energy industry.  Its mission is to advance the business success of energy industry contractors and professionals working within the Greater Philadelphia region. This Code of Conduct is a statement of EAP’s common values to help guide the EAP and its members in the decisions they make and the quality of work or products they provide.  It establishes a set of standards to which all EAP members are required to adhere to maintain their status as members in good standing.

Standard of Conduct for Members
As a condition of membership in EAP, all EAP members are required to:

  • Share EAP’s goal of advancing energy industry
  • Maintain a professional level of courtesy, respect, and objectivity in all matters and activities associated with EAP
  • Exercise reasonable care, good faith, and due diligence in EAP affairs
  • Uphold and promote the highest industry standards in all work performed
  • Respect diversity of opinions and the integrity and ability of others; and promote collaboration and cooperation
  • Ensure that all products used are fit for their intended purpose and that they are delivered and installed in a safe, effective, and serviceable condition
  • Ensure that only competent, trained, and qualified personnel install, service, and repair all products as appropriate
  • Behave in a professional manner to further EAP’s purposes and promote the integrity of the energy industry
  • Maintain the highest degree of integrity in all dealings
  • Not engage in or facilitate any discriminatory or harassing behavior directed toward EAP staff, members, officers, directors, meeting/event attendees, exhibitors, advertisers, sponsors, suppliers, contractors, or others in the context of activities related to EAP
  • Promote open competition and comply with antitrust laws by not discussing restraint of trade agreements, prices, pricing policies, terms and conditions of purchase or sale, costs, future company plans, boycotting of customers or products, or any other topics that might be considered anti-competitive behavior
  • Respect and uphold federal, state, and local laws

EAP strives to be ethical and transparent, and to ensure the organizations and individuals with whom EAP conducts business adhere to the principles expressed in this Code of Conduct.  EAP reserves all rights to take any actions deemed necessary if this Code of Conduct is not followed.
