PECO Alerts

July 31, 2006

Dear PECO Valued Customer,

We value your business and want to ensure that there is no confusion about the department’s name change to PECO’s New Business Service organization. PECO’s Contractor and Builder Services department has been in place for 10 years, and the department is not changing. The name is changing to be consistent with the other Exelon departments that handle New Business and Customer requests. The existing phone numbers, faxes, and building locations are not changing. More important, the contacts you have developed during the last decade at PECO will remain the same.

Thank you for your support of this department through the years. Although our name has changed, our commitment to you remains the same.  We look forward to serving you again.

Sincerely,

David M. DeSimone, Manager, New Business Services

Re:                   Important Notification - Electrical Outage

In an effort to improve our service to customers like you and customers in the communities you serve, I want to bring to your attention a recent electrical outage event that occurred within the PECO service territory.

We recently received an emergency call regarding an electrical outage at a property that was recently converted to all-electric service. Since the conversion, multiple electrical appliances -- including hot water heaters -- had been added to the site. This created a dangerous electric overload, causing the building to lose power.

Fortunately, there were no injuries. PECO crews responded to the scene, and following several hours of work to increase the electric service capacity, the building’s electrical service was successfully restored.

Further investigation also revealed that the work was completed without the submission of a Service and Meter Application. This application would have alerted PECO to the overload situation and allowed the company to complete necessary work in advance — preventing a dangerous situation and power outage.

This is a reminder that in order to properly serve our customers and meet the requirements outlined in Section 13.5 of PECO’s electric service tariff, customers are required to notify the company of any additional load increases. Upon notification, one of our experienced electrical designers will be assigned to your account and will gladly answer any questions you may have regarding the impacts of the additional load on our electric distribution system.

Our continued goal is the safe and reliable delivery of electricity and natural gas to our customers. Your notification is one step in helping us meet our goal. We look forward to serving you in the future and thank you for your cooperation.

Thank You.

PECO Alerts

December 19, 2005

To PECO’s Valued Customers,

As we move into the holiday season and reflect on the year’s past events, I’d like to take a moment to personally thank each of you for your contribution to helping us succeed in what, at times, was a challenging year. Your flexibility and understanding as we worked through twelve days of record heat and record electric consumption, followed closely by our response to hurricanes in the south which also involved the deployment of our crews, was commendable. I never take lightly the impact to your business or the impact to the customers you serve.

To reinforce PECO’s commitment in supporting businesses like yours through the challenging times listed above, as well as normal business activities, we have developed a guide that will assist you in working more effectively with our company. The guide, developed with direct feedback from you and your peers, will provide ways to quickly identify phone numbers and contacts, answer any scheduling questions you may have, and most importantly lend guidance for some of our safety practices including emergency contact numbers if the need arises. The information you provided was invaluable in creating a useful tool for you to use when working with us. We will be distributing the information at the beginning of 2006.

In closing, I would like to extend my personal holiday best to each of you and wish you and your family a safe and prosperous 2006. PECO, An Exelon Company, looks forward to serving you again.

Sincerely,

NATIONAL EMERGENCY - PECO CONTRACTORS IN THE GULF REGION

Date:     September 9, 2005

To:        PECO Energy’s Valued Customers

From:    PECO Energy New Business Group

Re:        National Emergency in the Gulf region

PECO Energy is committed to all of our customers.

In light of the National Emergency in the Gulf region, PECO Energy will be sending linemen and support staff to assist in power restoration activities. Contractors who currently support PECO construction work will be part of the relief effort as well.

As a result of this effort, PECO may need to reschedule some of our previously scheduled work. We apologize for this change in plans and ask for your understanding as we respond to the call for help from utilities in the hurricane ravaged areas.

Our employees and contractors will likely be away for several weeks. We are currently reworking our schedules to adjust for the loss of these crews. We will make every effort to complete all scheduled work with as little impact to our customers as possible.

We appreciate your patience during this time of National Emergency.

As always, if you have any further questions, please contact our local New Business Office.

PECO BULLETIN - METERING PEDESTALS INSTALLATIONS

Date: August, 2005

Re: PECO Bulletin Re. - Metering Pedestal Installations

This issue has been brought to our attention by PECO Energy. Please review their message:

It has come to my attention that more and more of these installations are popping up. Electricians are attaching the pedestal directly to the pad by bolting unistrut to the base. This is not the standard installation. The pedestal should be a free standing installation separate from the pad. The standard is in the E.S.R. figure 8.41. I don't know where this started or who in our organization is giving it their blessing but it is not acceptable. We will have to deem the installation not to be ready if this continues to occur. Please instruct your customers of the blue book standard and that attaching the pedestal to the pad will no longer be acceptable. Our field techs will get the same instructions. If there is a concern that someone has about this issue, we may discuss the pros and cons as to why the standard should be revised. Any questions feel free to call.

This also applies to pedestal installation on secondary services.

If you have any questions, please call:

Date:                   August 16, 2005

Re:                      Mounting Metering Transformers in Metering

                           Enclosures

The mounting of transformers on wood is no longer acceptable for new installations.

8.12.2 Mounting Metering Transformers in Metering Enclosures

Unistrut rails shall be attached securely to the back of the transformer enclosure with a minimum of two 1/4 “ x 20 corrosion resistant machine screws or thread cutting machine screws per rail.  Sheet metal screws are not acceptable.  Metering transformers shall be attached to the Unistrut with springnuts and machine bolts.  Mounting of transformers on wood is no longer acceptable for new installations.

Their still are contractors on system that still haven't conformed to the new standard.

Please e-mail me back or call with any questions.
